Four decades in the construction business have taught Don Clarke that the most important thing about any construction project—large or small, is that it is done right. Starting off as a 16-year old apprentice in his uncle Roy’s construction business, Don learned that business from the ground up. Upon completion of his carpenter’s license, Don hired on with Ellis-Don, a prominent Toronto construction firm, specializing in high-rise construction and institutional buildings, such as the Markham-Stouffville General Hospital.
In 1987 Don and his wife, Donna, founded Don K. Clarke Construction, focusing mainly on projects in the Trent Hills area. Don looked after getting projects done right, as well as on time and on budget, while Donna looked after the company’s day-to-day operations, as well as strategic planning for the future.
