He was born and raised in Kamloops; and is a member of the Sagamok Anishnawbek First Nation located on the north shore of Lake Huron in Ontario. His legal career has taken him across Canada with longer positions in Ottawa, Ontario and Slave Lake, Edmonton and Calgary, Alberta.
