Jublee Cycle has been a South Burnaby landmark since 1946, outfitting many generations of families with bikes throughout. Burnaby and Metro Vancouver over the years. Not only is the unique-shaped building a fixture an Imperial Street, so is the Davies family whose father Jim purchased the business in 1974. Since then, the Davies - father Jim and sons Neil and Gary - have at some time during the store's history had hands on roles in building the business and driving its success. Driven by passion for the sport and a rich and memorable history in cycling, the Davies have all been very successful on their bikes. Jim Davies, an avid road and track cyclist, competed for Canada at the 1954 British Empire Games in Vancouver and the 1956 Olympic Games in Australia. Neil Davies followed his father's path and carved out a name for himself both on the road and the track winning both titles of BC Junior Road Champian and Canadian Cycling Champion on the track. The father-son duo also left their mark in track racing when jim won the first race on the China Creek Track (now the Broadway site of the VCC Campus) in 1954 and Neil won the last race before the track was closed down in 1980. Gary Davies headed for the BMX. The Davies' passion and natural gift to ride.
