Upon graduation from Talbot School of Theology in La Mirada, California, Pastor Sung and his wife were called from the sunny California shores to the beautiful Great White North to serve as an associate youth pastor in the winter of 1993. After ministering for 4 years at Toronto Bethel Evangelical Church, he founded Rock Community Church in 1997. Just a handful of believers met in homes, then moved to Tyndale University College and Seminary. What began as a small group has now grown into a vibrant 5 acre church situated amongst a beautiful forest in the city of Woodbridge, Ontario. The core of Pastor Sung's philosophy of ministry is the simple belief that people of all ages, races and backgrounds can find deliverance and life through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. With more than 3,000 donation bins and an active home pick-up service in communities across Canada, we collect unwanted gently used clothing and household items to raise much-needed funds for Diabetes Canada. This helps support programs and research on behalf of the 11 million Canadians living with diabetes and pre-diabetes.
But, we’re more than just clothing donation collectors. We are an organization of dedicated professionals working with Canadians from coast to coast fighting to End Diabetes through waste diversion. Each year, the program diverts more than 100 million lbs. of clothing and household items from landfill sites across Canada.
