According to 1991 statistics the population of Onanole is 404, but during the summer it triples because of summer residents. Onanole is part of the Rural Municipality of Park South which has a population of 935 in 1991. The entrance to Onanole is marked with a huge statue of an elk, the chosen symbol of the community.
