Our founder Benny D'Amico emmigrated from Italy as a young boy and became involved in the optical field while still attending St. Michael's College School. In the early sixties there was a lack of optical service in the Italian community. Mr. D'Amico's desire to fill that void resulted in his becoming the first Italian-heritage Optician in Ontario. Dr Mimmo Gagliardi was born and raised in Toronto and has lived in the Woodbridge community since 1978. He graduated from the University of Waterloo School of Optometry in 1984. He has completed two additional courses in the treatment and management of ocular disease in affiliation with Northeastern State University in Oklahoma and Southern California College of Optometry. Dr Gagliardi is fluent in Italian.
