This is my regular takeaway pizza joint - really tasty pizza, generous toppings and interesting flavours. In a world filled with bad chain pizza places, it is refreshing to have a small ON owned chain restaurant (I believe they have a couple of other locations in woodbridge) that serves good pizza - no more pan fried greasy poor quality pizza for me. I am half Italian and only eat the best pizza from my mother or wife so for me to praise this is indeed a sign of quality.

Extremely friendly service, great menu, interesting old building, built in the 1840's..
Had a chicken marsala special which was very very flavorful, gf had a steak dinner, steak was "cooked to perfection"
I am looking forward to going back on a mon or tues for their pasta buffet.

The experience at la Scala is quaint, quiet, and magical. The food is simply authentic Italian, done right,and has easily become one of my favorites in the area for a fancy dinner date :) I've been 5 times over the past year and have been blown away each time with their carefully curated locally sourced selections, and charming ambiance.
They have an intimate party room for larger functions and the service is impeccable. Extra bonus!! There is free parking in the back! Will definitely be back.

Over the years, the name of the community changed several times and was, in the early 1800's, known as 'Shipman's Corners'. Paul Shipman's tavern was an important stagecoach transfer point as well as the hub of the community's social life. 'The Twelve' was another name used, referring to the Twelve Mile Creek. However, the name St. Catharines, in one form or another, had preceded all other names. Although its origin is not clear, it is thought to be named after Catharine Askin Robertson Hamilton, wife of the Hon. Robert Hamilton, a prominent businessman.
