The Winchester Volunteer Fire Department (WVFD) is an independent, not for profit organization comprised of approximately 20 members. The membership currently includes factory workers, school workers, engineers, physicians, teachers, retirees and farmers.
Winchester District Memorial Hospital (WDMH) is a teaching hospital located approximately 45 minutes south of Ottawa. The new WDMH opened in 2009, building on more than 60 years of caring for local communities. This included the redevelopment of obstetrics, surgery, emergency and inpatient care, and state of the art technology including a CT scanner and digital mammography. In 2012, WDMH's maternity service was named the number one recommended program in Ontario. We are equipped with all of the necessary machinery, as well as a complete countertop cutting station, to manufacture any cabinetry, counter tops or custom millwork.
Our self-contained spray booth, with state of the art finishing equipment, allows us to do custom staining, as well as ensure a quality finished product. We use water based, environmentally friendly finishing lacquers, and can use formaldehyde-free board products on request. We carry a varied line of wood, thermofoil and laminate doors from suppliers such as Richelieu, Premoule and Robert Bury, as well as from local suppliers—in both Traditional and Contemporary styles. We also supply laminate post-formed counter and bar tops from Premoule, and have access to granite, marble, solid surface, engineered stone, etc.
