We are a community legal clinic and we provide free legal assistance to people living in our area. Downsview Community Legal Services is funded by Legal Aid Ontario and run by a community board of directors. In order to receive legal assistance, you must qualify financially and live within our catchment area which is bordered by Steeles Ave. to the North, Yonge St. to the East, Trethewey Dr. to the South and Jane St. to the West.
Kababayan Community Centre Multicultural Services (KCCMS) recently changed its name to Kababayan Multicultural Centre (KMC). This new name fittingly and concisely captures Kababayan's essence of service to the community it serves while keeping focus on the Filipino community in Ontario. Kababayan Multicultural Centre is a non-profit agency providing settlement services. The settlement program is funded by the three levels of the Canadian government: Federal, Province of Ontario and City of Toronto.
The Canadian Lesbian and Gay Archives (CLGA) is the largest independent LGBTQ+ archives in the world. With a focus on Canadian content, the CLGA acquires, preserves and provides public access to information and archival materials in any medium. By collecting and caring for important historical records, personal papers, unpublished documents, publications, audio-visual material, works of art, photographs, posters, and other artifacts, the CLGA is a trusted guardian of LGBTQ+ histories now and for generations to come.
