A LITTLE HISTORY OF JACKSON’S Built in 1897 by A. MacDonald and Company, the present Jackson’s building started its life as a grocery store. Throughout this time, the interior of the building has seen extensive renovations many times, however, the walls and floors remain thesame as they were in 1897. Most famously, in 1986 the Hollywood hit- “Roxanne”, used this building for the fictitious Dixies Café, starring Darryl Hannah and Steve Martin.
