YouthLink North West Scarborough Youth Centre was established through the efforts of a group of non-profit and community service agencies serving the Northwest Scarborough area in 2001 in response to a Youth Speaks event held in the community. In 2008 the Youth Centre became a program of YouthLink, a Scarborough-based, youth mental health organization.
In June, the Agency was renamed Centre for Immigrant and Community Services on its 45th anniversary, to better reflect the nature of its mission, programs and activities. In January, a commercial- grade community kitchen was completed to allow for food, nutrition and health-related programming.
