To promote the culture of authentic southern style cuisine through unique bbq catered events. You crane your neck and look quizzically at the pitmaster as he manipulates the smoldering fire. He opens the giant steel door and carefully checks today's offerings. Peppered Texas Brisket of Beef, Sweet-Meat Carolina Pulled Pork, Garlic Sausage, and Spiced Jumbo Shrimp. Your stomach growls, your mouth waters... Welcome to an authentic Southern-style BBQ catering by The BBQ Gourmet Food Company.
The management company of our apartment building treated 700 - 1,000 residents to the most delicious BBQ lunch provided by BBQ Gourmet. We had smoked Texas brisket, Nashville Spiced chicken and Scandinavian Style hot smoked salmon together with other treats. The directions were easy to follow and the food was ample for two meals. Highly recommend from a couple of foodies. Thank you.Read more
Cafe Diplomatico was first opened in 1968 by Rocco Mastrangelo Sr., shortly thereafter younger brother Paul came on board. The brothers envisioned having a typical Italian bar where Italian nationals could gather in the morning over coffee. At a time in Toronto when outdoor dining was almost unheard of, the sunny patio quickly caught on and now almost 4 decades later what started out as an innovation in the neighborhood has now set the standard.
Over the years the popularity of the Diplomatico has caused the bar to expand into a full restaurant eventually taking over the store next door as well. The dip (as it is affectionately referred to by it's many regulars) has had staying power due to it's versatile & reasonably priced menu paired with it's comfortable & unpretentious atmosphere.
Approaching 5 decades the restaurant is still owned by the Mastrangelo family, younger brother Paul now runs it with Rocco Mastrangelo Jr.

I've always had a love for cooking. From the subtle sophistication of perfecting the Red Velvet cake texture, to the simplicity of a chicken noodle soup, I love to cook. Combining the skills I learned as Main Chef at Javaville, with the theoretical knowledge I gained while studying in George Brown College's Chef Program, I created King Catering.
