Bangkok Garden is located in a historic building, just two blocks North of Yonge-Dundas Square and has been serving authentic Thai cuisine for 35 years, including silky curries, hot and mild stir fries, exotic soups, and vibrant noodle dishes using traditional recipes. The restaurant was awarded the Thai Select Premium designation from the Thai Consulate recognising the authenticity of the cuisine and excellent service.
The main dining room is lushly decorated in teak and artifacts imported from Thailand, featuring a gently flowing river with a small school of fish and stones collected from the banks of the famous River Kwai. The Bar & Lounge area offers an inviting atmosphere for appetizers and cocktails, and our sunny patio is open all summer.
We went there for nice dinner during winterlisious 2012.
Overall restaurant is very busy but cozy and romantic. Our server was running around in hurry and as a result during entire evening mixed up who ordered what, since it was only two of us it was ok to switch.
Food Overall was very good: My appetizer was yumm and so is my the other person, soft deep fried calamari was excellent. Chicken skewers were moist and sauce was perfectly spicy.
For the main dish disappointment arrived, all main dishes come with rice and stir fry. Stir fry was the WORST I have ever tried, super hard giant pieces of cabbage+ raw zucchini made it unpleasant both on taste and texture. Main dish of red curry was excellent and rice was perfectly done. Basil beef was amazing (properly the softest piece of beef I have ever tried in my life).
Desserts were good too my mango-chocolate mousse cake was heavenly and banana fritter had amazing crunchy but sweet coating on it .Read more
Specials include pork or crab dumplings, General Tao's chicken and sliced chicken sautéed and mixed with fried egg whites. Vegetable dishes include eggplant with minced meats and sautéed green beans fried with ground shrimp.
The Decor is fantastic. Tables and chairs are well-constructed, and the lighting sets a charming mood.
The food is well-prepared and fresh. Honey Garlic Sesame Chicken (not quite General Tao, but close enough) was very crunchy and well-textured. They used real honey so the sauce on the chicken was thick and rich. The beef rollover was good and cooked well but could have had a bit more sauce in it, a little dry to chew and swallow. The real treat was the soup-filled pork dumplings which exploded with flavour every time.
This is an active and busy restaurant, so be prepared for lots of people eating and settling at tables. The staff works to clear the tables quickly, but they can sometime seem abrupt in their manner. Washroom has modern fixtures and is kept clean.Read more

Food: The menu is simple yet it's high quality and well prepared dishes with great wine and drinks pairing. We decided to go with an app, an entree, and dessert - although the dishes didn't surprise us, they still met our expectations of high quality. The real treats were the Oyster Boy's Finest and Pan Seared Quebec Foie Gras, each being a great start to our meal. Although it was great, it didn't end with a bang. The meal kept its pace right through to dessert.
Service: The wait staff were very attentive and accomodating. Our server was attentive to our needs, and was engaged without being too involved in our dining experience. I was impressed by the service from everyone this evening!
Atmosphere: I would definitely recommend trying to reserve a table by the window. The place is beautiful with the simple and modern decor, though the view of the city is an added bonus to your meal.
It's definitely worth the visit if you're looking to dine in the sky with a great meal, but be prepared to empty out your wallet, because this place isn't cheap.Read more
