Martin's country market, we are very happy to have products sold by mennonite family's in Massey. Our family owns a cottage in the Massey area and travels a great distance to enjoy our free time there. Martin and his wife have gone to great lengths to serve us well, once they even thawed pork chops so that our rushed first night with company would go off without a hitch. We have a saying about the weather in Tobermory 'If you don't like the weather wait 5 minutes'!Our unique position on the globe (at 45 degrees latitude, or halfway between the equator and the north pole) and our proximity to large masses of water result in two major weather systems converging here. A southwest system brings warm, moist air. The other from the northwest carries dry, cold air. Unsettled weather is usually followed by another system pushing it out quickly.Other areas at this latitude experience extreme weather conditions - hot dry summers and cold, snowy winters. But due to our position between the two large bodies of water of Lake Huron and Georgian Bay, we enjoy a much more moderate climate.
