Japanese charcoal, particularly Binchotan, is prized for its superior quality of burning in addition to the excellent heat retention at high temperatures. Most fine quality charcoal contains 80% of carbon component, which produces minimal odour associated with the impurities and volatile components. However, in binchotan charcoal, the carbon component is 93% to 95%, meaning food grilled with it retains its own natural flavours at the most purest state. Since Binchotan charcoal is nearly pure carbon, it momentarily reaches temperatures of 1000°C yet produces no flame or odour. This flameless and therefore gentle technique of grilling is cherished by barbeque connoisseurs worldwide.

The first Lady Marmalade opened its doors in Victoria in 2005. Originally from Toronto, Carla Cherry & her brother, David Cherry, opened up the little brunch joint & worked hard to make it a Victoria staple. Lady Marmalade quickly became famous for their delicious eggs benny and tasty Mexican dishes. In 2008, David moved back to Toronto with his wife Natalia Simachkevitch, while Carla stayed at the helm of Lady Marmalade in Victoria. David & Natalia scoured the city for the perfect location & a second Lady Marmalade opened in July 2009 in lovely Leslieville. David cooked, Natalia served.

Canoe Restaurant & Bar welcomes you to their dining room. They are open nightly from Monday to Friday and are readily reachable by public transit and bicycle. They are established in an area filled with merchants and parks.
If you're looking for fine dining with great service and a relaxing atmosphere in Toronto, you'll need to look up to the sky and search for Canoe. Food: The menu is simple yet it's high quality and well prepared dishes with great wine and drinks pairing. We decided to go with an app, an entree, and dessert - although the dishes didn't surprise us, they still met our expectations of high quality. The real treats were the Oyster Boy's Finest and Pan Seared Quebec Foie Gras, each being a great start to our meal. Although it was great, it didn't end with a bang. The meal kept its pace right through to dessert. Service: The wait staff were very attentive and accomodating. Our server was attentive to our needs, and was engaged without being too involved in our dining experience. I was impressed by the service from everyone this evening! Atmosphere: I would definitely recommend trying to reserve a table by the window. The place is beautiful with the simple and modern decor, though the view of the city is an added bonus to your meal. It's definitely worth the visit if you're looking to dine in the sky with a great meal, but be prepared to empty out your wallet, because this place isn't cheap. Read more
We lament the alarming trend of The Styrofoam Lunch Container and Plastic Fork, carried into the corporate cubicle for something called lunch. This has led Rodney's No.1 Head Cook Rodrigo to create and implement The Galley Lunch - 7 + offerings falling under the $10.00 mark. We are all hoping this renews the Urban core of worker bees' interest in taking a true break for 45 minutes at lunch, and stems the above mentioned Syndrome. A Revival of Social Intercourse, Friendship and the Rejuvenation of the Mind through the Stomach! Rodney's is respectful of the budgetary concerns of society and therefore we also suggest creativity in splitting items, having communal mid-table platters for sharing, and half-order tactics. Water is good.

Top marks to this South Asian-inspired bistro that was among the flag bearers for what is now a most vivacious stretch of Toronto dining — the Ossington Ave. restaurant row — for so faithfully keeping the beat. That, trumpet its many devotees, is because those with an eye on the food also never took their eye off the ball. A steady march of consistently prepared dishes makes its way from kitchen to table here, always earning praise for spot-on execution, presentation and pricing. Standouts include the ever-reliable Arctic char ceviche, the ever-surprising fried lamb and duck prosciutto dumplings, and the ever-scrumptuous Thai chili fried chicken.
Tom Thai continues to impress in a very different yet subtly familiar path! LOVE LOVE LOVE the duck prosciutto dumplings and fried frog legs and so much more. Strictly grown-up friendly, a.k.a. Noisy Kids Need Not Apply. Read more

Perhaps one of the finest meals I have ever eaten. The bread was hands down THE BEST I have ever had at any restaurant. I was very dubious since this was a recommendation from the hotel but I was very pleasantly surprised. The first waiter was not very friendly but the second one was just fine. Read more
