The spark of inspiration for the café began in Paris in 2008. Scottish-born Isobel (who has a lifelong passion for all things French) persuaded her Turkish husband and two teenage daughters to uproot from Vancouver and travel to France for 6 months. They took in Paris, Bordeaux, St. Tropez, Marseille and Nice, all while sampling the café life. The girls (with computers in tow) soon became accustomed to the relaxing café experience.

I have now focussed my energy on the artistic direction of the newly-formed Cellar Jazz Society, a non-profit organization dedicated to educating and increasing the public's understanding and appreciation of Jazz, by providing performances of artistic nature at public venues and educational institutions.
