The history of the Manitoba Restaurant Association dates back to 1944 when we were known as the Canadian Restaurant Association (CRA) Manitoba Division. A branch of the Manitoba Restaurant and Foodservices Association (MRFA) was later formed as a fee sharing affiliate of the CRFA and grew steadily. As an association with over 400 restaurant members and 100 associate members we made the decision on January 1, 1998 to split from the CRFA in order to serve our members better. In December of 1998 we became the Manitoba Restaurant & Foodservices Association Inc.

The Roofing Contractors Association of Manitoba (RCAM) was founded in the early 60's to be the provincial affiliate of a fledgling trade group called the Canadian Roofing Contractors' Association (CRCA). Over 40 years have gone by and we've seen our respective associations grow and mature into the highly regarded groups they are today. Our membership consists of two main categories:roofing contractors, who are actively engaged in the construction of commercial, industrial and institutional ''flat'' roofs, andassociate members - the companies engaged in manufacturing and/or supplying materials and services used in our industry.A third category of membership in RCAM is that of Honorary Life Membership which recognizes those individuals whose contributions to the roofing industry helped to make our association into the vital group that it is today. RCAM has been well represented at the national level, having had five of its members serve as CRCA President.
Our organization is comprised of 12 Directors elected for a two year term. The five person Executive Committee consists of the Chairperson of the Board, Past Chair, 1st Vice Chairperson, 2nd Vice Chairperson, and the Secretary Treasurer. The board meets on a monthly basis and reviews reports submitted by the Chair of the various committees. it is the mission of the Manitoba Home Builders' Association to be the voice of the residential construction industry in Manitoba; to provide a forum for the ongoing education of the membership with respect to technology and business practices; to achieve an environment in which the membership can operate successfully; and to promote affordability and choice in housing for all Manitobans.
