Anola, Manitoba, Canada is a small town located 24 km east of Winnipeg, 40km north of Steinbach in the municipality of Springfield. It was first established in 1907 as a railroad stop. Its name is derived from the word ''knoll,'' meaning a hill or mound, which the community is built on.
The Winnipeg Rowing Club is located on the Red River just south of The Forks in downtown Winnipeg. It is one of the oldest sporting organizations in Western Canada.The Winnipeg Rowing Club has been in operation since 1881, stopping only twice in its history – during WWI and WWII. It survived the Northwest Rebellion of 1885, the General Strike of 1919, the Great Depression of the 1930's, the Great Flood of 1950, and the Flood of the Century in 1997. Over the years the clubhouse has been destroyed by fire, wind, and water, but has somehow always managed to maintain its long and proud tradition.Today, the WRC is a non-profit organization, with a rich and successful sporting history, and fostering generations of camaraderie and friendships. Members range from 13 to 85, and the club offers programs for all skill levels.WRC is a member of Manitoba Rowing Association (MRA) and Rowing Canada Aviron (RCA).Our MissionThe Winnipeg Rowing Club is dedicated to providing programs and the required infrastructure designed to meet the needs of its members – be it youth, senior, master, or recreational and competitive athletes – and to enable all rowers to grow in the sport to their full potential
Our organization is comprised of 12 Directors elected for a two year term. The five person Executive Committee consists of the Chairperson of the Board, Past Chair, 1st Vice Chairperson, 2nd Vice Chairperson, and the Secretary Treasurer. The board meets on a monthly basis and reviews reports submitted by the Chair of the various committees. it is the mission of the Manitoba Home Builders' Association to be the voice of the residential construction industry in Manitoba; to provide a forum for the ongoing education of the membership with respect to technology and business practices; to achieve an environment in which the membership can operate successfully; and to promote affordability and choice in housing for all Manitobans.
