Welcome to the Official Website of the Vuntut Gwitchin First Nation (VGFN) in Old Crow, Yukon. Old Crow is a small town of about 300 aboriginal people; known as the Vuntut Gwitchin. Old Crow is located at the confluence of the Crow and Porcupine Rivers.
Hospice Yukon Society has been providing a range of bereavement and palliative support services to Yukoners since 1989. Our mission is to enhance the quality of life for those facing advanced illness, death and bereavement through skilled and compassionate care, education and advocacy
In the Yukon Territory the term 'hospice' refers to a philosophy of care rather than a specific place where people spend their last days. Our skilled staff and volunteers offer support to dying and bereaved clients at the Whitehorse hospital, in care facilities, private homes and in our downtown office space.
At Hospice Yukon we provide programs and services that can help you to better understand the profound journey of living, dying and grieving. And help you to better support yourself and others.
TOZ has grown to meet the demands of the community and the agency is currently operating two Adult Day Programs Open Doors and In Step and two residential homes where twenty-four hour care is provided. The goal for our services is to provide support to adults with intellectual disabilities in any area of daily life where assistance is needed by encouraging opportunities for personal choices and decision-making to allow the client to be as independent as possible.
