The origins of VanMar Constructors Inc. can be traced back to 1973 when brothers Eric and Bernie launched their general contracting firm Van Maren Construction. Art Van Maren joined the firm in 1985. From modest beginnings in framing and concrete construction, the Van Maren brothers have built everything from town homes to hotels, non-profit social and co-operative housing, care facilities, seniors housing, luxury high-rise condominiums, office/retail to industrial buildings. Art Van Maren stayed in the construction business and re-launched the company as VanMar Constructors Inc. Since 2002 VanMar has completed a host of projects including 8 health care campuses which include assisted living, independent living, complex care, dementia units, adult day care, child day care and walk in clinics. Also completed are 7 apartments and townhouse projects, 4 student housing projects, a waste transfer station, a convention lodge and 2 commercial projects.
