Leanne Zdebiake-Eni formed Island Pilates in 2003. Motivating people to move with a mind body connection has been the driving force behind her passion for fitness. Though once solely devoted to the practice of Pilates, Island Pilates and Fitness has transformed into a multifaceted fitness studio, dedicated to inspiring that passion in it's clients. Leanne is a certified STOTT Pilates Matwork Instructor, a BCRPA Advanced Group Fitness Leader, and a certified BOSU Integrated Balance Trainer Instructor. She is also a member of the Bellyfit development team. Leanne strives to make the studio a positive, healthy, community experience. She also greatly appreciates the diverse talent of her amazing instructors. Birgit Nilson has a diploma in Kinesiology and is a BCRPA registered Personal Trainer and Trainer of Fitness Leaders. She is also the owner of WorkWise Occupational Health Consulting. She has been teaching Fitness and Yoga classes for over 15 years and has been teaching Pilates matwork at Island Pilates and Fitness since 2006. Combining knowledge and her vast experience, Birgit will help you find new ways to challenge your body in a safe and enjoyable environment. Jessica Wittman is a certified Zumba Fitness Instructor,and also brings numerous certifications from dance, yoga and Pilates. Jessica is thrilled to be back in the Comox Valley after spending many years in California and Vancouver. Her infectious enthusiasm will keep you coming back to her classes again and again. Toni Dunne has been practicing yoga for 10 years. Her first love is Ashtanga Yoga, as she enjoys the flowing fast-paced nature of the practice, linking movement with breath. And while she still loves and practises this style, she continues to expand her practice, incorporating teachings from both the Iyengar and Anusara yoga traditions. Having completed the Yogaworks teacher training in 2009, Toni is elated to be able to share all that she has learned with her students, and looks forward to exploring the transformative potential of the practice. She feels grateful to be given the opportunity to teach at Island Pilates and Fitness, and give back to this supportive and inspiring community. Edith Jacob has entertained many large crowds and small intimate gatherings in a variety of dance forms over the past 10 years: Middle Eastern, Gypsy, Flamenco and Dance theater.

Habitat for Humanity is an independent, charitable, faith-based housing program dedicated to the elimination of poverty housing by building homes in partnership with families in need. We build simple, decent, and affordable houses and provide interest-free mortgages to families who would otherwise not be able to purchase their own home. The Habitat program is about home ownership and providing a long-term solution designed to break the poverty cycle. How did Habitat Start? Habitat for Humanity International was founded in 1976 in Americus, Georgia by Millard and Linda Fuller. The program developed from the concept of partnership housing , based on Christian principles, where those in need of adequate shelter work side by side with volunteers from every walk of life to build simple, decent houses. Habitat for Humanity Canada was born in 1985, with the foundation of the first Canadian affiliate in Winkler Manitoba. In early 1988 an Habitat for Humanity Canada national office was established, which is currently located in Waterloo, Ontario.
