The Bluenose Curling Club was established in 1853, making it the 3rd oldest club in the province and 16th oldest in Canada. For the first 20 years, curling was done outdoors on the harbour and on various ponds and inlets.
Northumberland Community Curling Club opened its doors in December 2007.The project was completed through generous donations of volunteer labour, materials and with remarkable financial support from the community at large.The Village of Pugwash, the County of Cumberland, and the Province of Nova Scotia all recognized and supported this endeavour.
