Food is delicious but somewhat overpriced. Offer the general selection of breakfast and do take it one step further but this is reflected in the price. Overall delicious but only if willing to spend a bit more. The place is very busy on weekends.

First visit and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The burgers were excellent. Love the skinny fries - very crispy and not oily. The salad was also very fresh. We will go back. Casual attire which we love. The price is very affordable. We had a great evening! Thanks Chez Lucien!

Not sure what to expect but the food was amazing! All of us are Caribbean(descent or born) & tried some of the jerk items on the menu. All of the positive comments were compared to what we have eaten from our various islands & the chef(s) there would be welcomed to our islands anytime with open arms! Kudos to the authenticity of the jerk food items, well prepared & very tasty. The fries were seasoned-didn’t need ketchup or salt, mac n cheese had a nice crust on top & the burgers were fantastic!

This is truly the best of all culinary & entertainment worlds! Obviously "the best" is subjective, and if you like big chain joints, stuffy service and soft music, this isn't the place for you. But if you like an intimate, dark and cozy atmosphere, fantastic casual service, the crackle of vinyl while MJ, James Brown or the Boss rings out across the bar all while eating some of the best food you've ever tasted...The Whalesbone is calling your name. Perhaps the best selection of oysters I've ever seen (even rare Pacific oysters from BC and NZ), professional bartenders/oyster shuckers keeping you "hydrated", fed and entertained, and a well-trained & highly talented (and VERY fun) staff make The Whalesbone a great place for lunch, dinner or just drinks with your friends! The Cheshire Cat Pub is a unique British style pub just outside of Kanata. When you walk in past the red telepone booth, it feels really authentic with the unusual "kitch" that you would find in pubs in England. We were just there, and found that they had taken off most of there regular drafts to replace them with Ontario craft beers. My husband was sad to not have a pint of Erdinger, but we learned that they were doing this to honour Ontario Craft Brew Week and found ourselves trying The Flying Monkey and a pint of Neustad 10w30 (beers I had never heard of!) Good for them we thought! We also learned that most of the menu incorporates local produce, meat and dairy. Anyway, the food was amazing! Pub fare, but with serious style. I had the Chicken Curry, my husband had the hamburger special and our friends both had the fish and chips.
The service was friendly and laid back and the owner came up to introduce himself and made us feel like we had been coming for years. It was hopping busy! This is truly one of those places that we will return to time and time again! We can't believe we waited this long to come in!
