Bear Creek Community Church is located beside Bear Creek Park, the heart of Surrey, British Columbia. Our church has been a part of the Bear Creek Park Community for over ten years and we are dedicated, each year, to further create the church that God intends for us to be. We are a part of a larger family of churches called the Evangelical Missionary Church of Canada. Our church is passionate about creating unity by strongly encouraging the involvment of our members and attendees within our ministries. Our Congregationand As our church has been formed from three separate churches, (Surrey Neighbourhood Church, Grace Evangelistic Church, and New Life Community Church), we strive to create unity and love in the midst of diversity for God's glory. Especially as we are located in Surrey, BC, cultural diversity is evident, including in our congregation. Many of our ministries focus on that particular aspect of our city. For instance, we share our buiding with the Vancouver Global Mission Church; a congregational ministry focussing on reaching out to the Korean population of Surrey, in addition, as you will read under Our Facilities, we rent out our building to a number of various organizations.
The Progressive Intercultural Community Services (PICS) Society is a registered non-profit society, charitable organization and United Way member agency that seeks to build a healthy and just society which values all cultures. PICS started as a volunteer based organization in 1987, and has expanded to include offices in Surrey and Vancouver to serve the multicultural community. Each year PICS is involved with very successful job fairs. In addition to the Mega Job Fair held in Surrey and the Joint Job Fair, organized in conjunction with other immigrant serving agencies, PICS organizes a multitude of mini job fairs. These job fairs give clients the opportunity to meet with potential employers and learn more about the labor market. The Government of Canada has contributed funding to office initiatives, which means they are available at no cost to our clients. In addition, with the help of the Ministry of Communities, Aboriginals and Women's Services, PICS offers settlement and integration help to newcomers from our offices.
