Vertically Inclined Rock Gym (VIRG) is one of North America's premiere climbing facilities. VIRG was created to bring the fantastic sport of rock climbing out of the fringes and make it more accessible to the general public. Vertically Inclined is one of Canada's most established climbing gyms having opened in 1996. The company has gone through many changes along the way and is striving to continuously improve. The building phase took about 6 months using thousands of pounds of steel, hundreds of sheets of plywood, 90 bags of cement and 10,000 T-nuts. There are currently well over 4000 handholds on the wall, 24 Topropes, 100 routes and 75 quick draws. We have achieved our physical goal of creating the nicest and most advanced climbing gym in Canada. We have taken the challenge and fitness benefits of rock climbing and removed the unpredictable nature of the mountain environment to offer a truly alternative form of active recreation. Come in and check us out!

Great sports store! I’ve been going here for years for all my skate sharpening needs and all of my bike tune-ups. Always quick, and super knowledgeable and friendly.
