Late on a Friday afternoon, after a frustrating week of visiting a number of businesses to get both information about countertops and fid someone willing to quote on my installation, I accidentally stumbled into Stone Express en route to Andrew Sheret in Richmond- What a wonderful discovery! Eric was incredibly helpful and informative - filling me in on all of the manufactured stones they carry as well as info about granite etc. He suggested that, if I had my plans, he could send me a quote after the weekend. The quote arrived Saturday a.m.! Eric also said I could see examples of their work around the corner at Suncrest Cabinets. I was offered samples and suggestions without pressure. Eric called me later to say that he had sourced a larger piece of stone to help me decide.
When I returned some of the samples I met Eric's associate, Yen, who was equally helpful and pleasant. As the Caesarstone I had chosen was new, she said she would reserve the pieces to make sure they were available when the cabinets were installed. Unfortunately our cabinet installation didn't go completely smoothly and as we have had to wait for some cabinet replacements, to complete the countertops all at the same time we would have had to wait for 6-8 weeks. Yen felt 6 weeks without our kitchen was absolutely unacceptable, so they split up the installation times, necessitating additional trips to measure and install.
When Raymond and James came to measure they were efficient and equally pleasant. They also noticed an installation issue that needed to be changed before one of the kitchen counters could be properly measured. After a second trip to measure, they were back within the 7 days to install – we are still waiting for the final glitches to be worked out re: 2 other cabinets, but I know Stone Express will handle the countertops without problem!
