Under this federal legislation, all vehicles being imported into Canada must comply to all applicable CMVSS regulations. Some of the responsibilities imposed by the legislation onto the importer of the vehicles being imported into Canada includes the ability to: ensure compliance of imported vehicles to the applicable standards, match test records to actual vehicles being imported, track vehicles for recall purposes, and provide the required documentation during a Transport Canada audit.
