The history of The Coast Group dates back to 1961 when Coast Paint Supply was formed as a Benjamin Moore paint retailer and contractor supplier. One of the first Benjamin Moore retailers in Western Canada, Coast Decorating Centre on Main Street soon became popular with homeowners and contractors.In February 1980 Gary and Nöel Brown purchased Coast Decorating Centre and Coast Paint Supply has been steadily growing ever since. Starting his career in the paint industry back in the 19702s, at the time of purchase Gary was working as a Benjamin Moore sales representative for the Vancouver market.In the late 1980's Coast Paint Supply became involved with the Master Painter and Decorating Association and the Canadian Decorating Products Association, an industry group which was originally formed to assist independent merchants in the decorating products industry. In 1991 Gary served a one year term as President of the CDPA. Gary also co-founded Canpro Decorating Association, a buying group for paint and decorating products, giving Coast Paint better buying power and allowing customers to continue shopping locally instead of at big box stores.The Coast Group now owns and operates several locations in Metro Vacouver and the Fraser Valley. At each store you will find the same friendly and conscientious service from long standing staff members, decorators and designers. We are proud to serve retail customers as well as architects, designers, contractors and the film and tv industry.
