Arbutus Grove Children's Centre's mission is to support and enhance each child's physical, social, emotional, creative and intellectual growth through play-oriented learning. A part of the community Arbutus Grove Children's Centre opened in September 2004 at 3905 Haro Road. Although the name and location of our centre is new, Arbutus Grove Children's Centre comes with a tradition of excellence in providing quality early learning programs. The new school formerly operated as Goosey Gander Kindergarten on Telegraph Bay Road for nearly 45 years. Arbutus Grove Children's Centre has four unique rooms and a large outdoor playground. Each of the distinctive areas provides unique learning opportunities with a wide array of different materials and activities that enhance all areas of childhood development. The groups are rotated through the different areas, giving the children a chance to leave one room and enter another completely new world in the next room. Fax: 250-477-2589
Bumble & Hive is a Play Centre/ Play Cafe that caters to children 0-6 years old and their parents, caregivers or grandparents. We are located in downtown Victoria in the heart of the Hudson District and inside the unique and vibrant Victoria Public Market. We are not a child-minding facility, which means that parents or guardians must remain in the facility with their child/children. Our Centre is made up of a 750 square foot of West Coast-themed playspace, designed for children 0-6 years and a self-serve cafe where we have coffee, tea, juice and light snacks available to our customers for purchase. We welcome Market food/Hudson District food to be taken in and eaten in our facility as long as it does not contain nuts. We do not allow food from home, however, customers may eat a packaged meal from home on one of the picnic tables in the common market. We also have a small retail space featuring a few items for sale from local designers/artisans.

We owe our existence to the vision and commitment of Provincial Government employees who helped make their dream a reality. OCCS is committed to meeting the social, emotional, physical, and intellectual needs of children in a consistent and progressive manner. OCCS is a non-profit society whose mission is to provide quality, accessible and affordable childcare for families in the community. The Centre promotes physical, emotional, cognitive and social growth, and development of each child. OCCS strives to ensure the highest quality care, safety and security of all children while allowing parents to be supported in the continuance of their careers.
