Little Red River Cree Nation joined Treaty No. 8 July 11, 1899 at Little Red River (Post), AB. The first Treaty Annuity payments were distributed to members of L.R.R.C.N by the Treaty Commission and civil servants of the North West Mounted Police on July 11, 1899; also at Little Red River (Post), AB. As our unwritten history extends beyond centuries and is traditionally passed down generation to generation through collective storytelling; it is the intent of the Nation to collect, archive, and present all historical documents and artifacts belonging to the Nation to our membership.
