Interesting and varied new menu items highlight a new season in this well-established eatery. The three-course Friday night special I had was truly wonderful, exciting, flavourful food. A mesclum mix was restrained by slices of cucumber, sliced lengthwise and curved to form a holder for the leaves, the whole drizzled with a piquant apple-based vinagrette. The pork tenderloin entree was three large pieces stuffed with a savoury dressing that was so tasty and plentiful that while I finished the pork, I took the rest of the stuffing home. Dessert was a chocolate/caramel custard in a crunchy pastry shell, topped with fresh strawberries and blackberries. Portion size gave good value for the price which was reasonable for the quality. Presentation throughout was as artistic as any classy place in Toronto but the outstanding things about the meal, to my mind, were the number of homemade items (dressing, stuffing, pudding, pastry) and the commitment to flavour everywhere. my first visit, We heard that they had a new head chef and that the menu had changed...my wife had the herb encrusted scallops with chorize and saffon for an app... it was to die for... I ordered the beef tenderloin medium rare with potato and butternunt squash puree... I dont like squash...I could have eaten a bowl full of it... the steak came with wild and domestic mushrooms and carmalized onions with a red wine sauce.... the steak was cooked perfect. My wife had potato and leek soup... the meal was one of the best I have had in a very long time... if you read my reviews you will notice that I always find somthing that is not done properly... not here... We WILL BE BACK.....

Have been here before on visits to Stratford. Came here on our wedding day for afternoon drinks and snacks. Food was fantastic, service great and friendly. Meals we've hadbefore has always been great too.

Our family planned to have a few hours of Christmas shopping together in beautiful downtown Stratford. Our last stop after the shops closed was the Annex Room for dinner. We wanted a 'sure thing' and we certainly weren't disappointed. Katey C. is the loveliest waitress ever! We'll keep coming back to this outstanding establishment.
