Welcome to the NSMDC Website! The North Shore MicMac District Council Inc. was incorporated in 1987 as a notforprofit entity to provide advisory and technical assistance to its member First Nations. Originally, this assistance was limited to Finance, Capital Works Projects (water & sewer infrastructure), Community Economic Development and Band Governance. It has since expanded to include PostSecondary Education, Child and Family Services, Housing Inspection Services, First Nation Human Resource Development and Aboriginal Fisheries Program, as well as other contracted services.

Among the presidents who have served on the Board of Directors of the Company include the presence of Emmanuel Rioux, who for 15 years has conscientiously at the helm, followed by Yvette Babineau-Ouellet and Bernard D'Amours, Jean-Claude Parent, Angela D'Amours, Louis Fiset, Paul Dumas and now Robert Letourneau.
