The Davis Farmers Market allows non-profit organizations and community information groups to have space at the Market in a designated area which is determined and assigned by the Market Manager. All interested parties requesting such a space should check with the Manager for proper placement before setting up. It is recommended that you arrive by 7am on Saturdays and by 4:00pm on Wednesdays. Groups are responsible for bringing their own chairs, table and signage. Your space will not exceed 10'x10'. Each group must sign and return the 'Market Policy for Socio-Political/Community Groups Form' before or upon arrival.
Home Hardware Stores offer a range of departments and products. Housewares, plumbing, electrical, lawn & garden, paint, lumber, building materials, tools and professional advise for your projects.
This store opened recently as part of the revitalization of the area south of the Cambie Bridge. This is an interesting concept for the store that brought us the sprawling big box stores of the 'burbs that we have come to know and love. This store is on 1.5 levels on a smaller footprint and offers almost anything you can imagine for the do-it-yourself-er in an urban setting. In fact its the "almost" in the previous statement that costs this store a 5. It is true that they offer almost anything but if you want to do any larger projects involving copious amounts of lumber, landscaping stone, plants, soils and other landscaping materials you will still need to visit one of the big stores. All that aside, if you are looking for anything else this is a great store to hit, particularly given their location. My child and I particularly enjoy the monthly (every second Saturday) children's workshops where the kids get to build a fun, wood-based project. Afterward there are a myriad of options to pursue such as a walk at the sea-wall around False Creek or a hot chocolate at Starbucks. Check it out next time you're in the area and you will leave impressed!Read more
