Rather than being just another small town store, we offer only the freshest meat, hand cut or ground by our fully qualified meat cutters. Quality and freshness are the usual words that define our produce department. The amazing selection of conventional, organic, specialty, and gluten free products continue to astound our local and not so local customers.
This historic TRADING POST has been serving the community in the same location beside the centuries old Stoney Trail, for over 90 years. It was Jack Elsdon who came to the area and began a trucking business and trading with the native people. The business is still in the same family.
We specialize in genuine NATIVE CRAFTS, MOCCASINS, MUKLUKS, the real Cowichan Knitwear and much more. Visiting the Trading Post is indeed, a unique shopping experience. Where else can you shop around the warmth of the trusty wood stove amidst the aroma of freshly hand tanned hides and by chance, meet one of the native or local artists bringing in their goods to sell!
We hope you will visit and experience the warm hospitality and a subtle mingling of the old and the new.
We are a seedling nursery that distributes tree seedlings to the Western region, ( BC, AB and SK) for shelterbelt, farms, acreages, conservation and riparian work, and county programs to name a few. We do not require a land title, and happily sell to the public. We sell bare root and plug material.
Trees are shipped each May through Canada Post. We begin taking orders for the spring, the fall prior. All trees are on a first come, first reserved basis. The average height of our seedlings are 12-18 inches, and are going on their second growing year. Seedlings are sold in bundles of 10 for $28.00.
