The West Nipissing General Hospital Foundation was established on July 13th, 1995 and incorporated on August 4th, 1995 in the town of Sturgeon Falls, District of West Nipissing. The Foundation was initially created to help fundraise for the purchasing of a Mammography Unit. Nearly two decades later the Foundation continues to raise funds for necessary hospital equipment such as cardiac monitors, intravenous smart pumps, ultrasound equipment, palliative care rooms, colonoscopy suites, an X-ray suite, and various laboratory instruments.
As the expenses associated with medical advancements and modern technologies steadily increase, the importance of a strong and successful hospital Foundation increases as well.
