Providence Spirituality Centre is a warm, inviting, peace-filled retreat house, on the grounds of the Motherhouse of the Sisters of Providence of St. Vincent de Paul. The lovely 33-acre setting, spotted with paths, benches, old trees and patches of delightful flowers make it an oasis of tranquility in the heart of the Kingston, Ontario community.

The new church resulted from the amalgamation of two historic Kingston congregations in 1964: Cookés United Church and Portsmouth United Church. Both of these congregations originated in the middle of the 19th century.

In 1967, Sandy MacLachlan created the Woodworking Museum as a Centennial Project. To house the collection, he dismantled an 1855 log house, originally built by the White family in Lanark County, and moved it to Princess Street in Kingston, Ontario. There it operated as a privately?owned museum for over a decade.In the early eighties, it was bought by the former Pittsburgh Township and once again, the log house was moved to its present location at Grass Creek Park. With the amalgamation of the City of Kingston in 1998, the museum became the responsibility of the Culture and Recreation Division in the Corporation of the City of Kingston.The MacLachlan Woodworking Museum holds the most extensive, nationally significant collection of woodworking tools in Canada.

Lindsay Davidson studied at the Reid School of Music in the University of Edinburgh - the first person in the world to finish any music academy majoring as a 'piper. He continued his post-graduate studies with the double specialisation in composition and computer sound synthesis in 1996 and shortly afterwards started his pedagogical and performing activities founding several pipe bands and a music school for which he developed a new system of teaching piping, adopted across the world.
