Challenging but fun! Metcalfe Golf Club is a well-kept, interesting course with something for every level of player. Mature trees line fairways on both the 18-hole and 9-hole courses (along with a few imposing trees that often block shots on some particular fairways!) The greens are well maintained and are designed to add challenge (and strokes) to your game! Hickories Restaurant provides tasty meals after a round; and for tournaments, the buffet dinners they provide are excellent! Metcalfe, on the whole, provides great value for both golf and meals, and is definitely one of the better clubs around Ottawa!

Approx six years ago this company did our driveway for us and did an outstanding job. . There has not been one problem or flaw in the work that was done by this company. The work was outstanding and the staff was very professional and efficient. Therefore when we decided to have our backyard landscaped approx a month ago we did not hesitate for one second to call Zodiac. They showed up within two weeks ready to take on the job . They have since completed it and they did so with professionalism , pride and a lot of very hard work.. The guys were very professional, neat, efficient and very attentive to all of the detail . Even when they did not know I was looking the foreman was very meticulous and particular about the job they were doing. .The job they did was none other than superb and we were very pleased with the magnificent oasis they created in our backyard... extremely pleased and would recommend this company in a heartbeat. I have permitted them to post before and after pictures to show the quality of work that was done. We have received nothing but the highest compliments on our yard and all the work Zodiac has done. Meet Me at the Oak. Why do we call the Oak royal? It all has to do with our love of history and a keen awareness of our heritage. The story goes as follows...Charles II, whose father Charles I had been beheaded by Oliver Cromwell, became a fugitive whilst running from Cromwell's army after being soundly defeated at the Battle of Worcester in 1651. He took refuge with a Major Carlis in Boscobel Woods where the two hid in an oak tree to get a good view of the approaching army. They remained all day, the King sleeping from time to time, his head on a cushion on Carlis' lap. Cromwell's troops passed under the tree but did not see him or his companion. After Cromwell died the good people of England decided a monarchy was not such a bad idea after all. Charles II was restored to the British crown. In celebration, Charles' birthday, May 29, was designated "Oak Day" in remembrance of his escape from Cromwell in 1651.
