Our story spans over twenty years. In 1987, Ebrahim Suleman, who had immigrated from his home in Tanzania, Africa, was running two succsessful camera and photo finishing stores in the Toronto area. As his business was growing however, he felt something was missing. Driving on Bloor st West one day, he passed Bloor Cycle, at the time Canada's largest bicycle store.

In 1994, the business expanded and Ebrahim's son, Aarif opened Bike Depot in Thornhill, Ontario. Business immediately took off. Having learned the lessons from Broadway Cycle, Bike Depot was able to quickly establish itself as one of the market leaders north of the city. When we began our beginnings were humble to say the least. Over 20 years later however, both stores have become the established fixtures in the Toronto cycling scene. Broadway Cycle has moved into a new facility with three times the square footage of our original store and Bike Depot went through a major renovation adding a second floor showroom.
