I am a Registered Therapeutic Counsellor specializing in Family and Community and a Dona International trained Birth Doula. I hold a Diploma in Professional Counselling, a Certificate in Intimacy in Relationships, and a Youth and Family worker Certificate. I am a member in good standing of the Association of Cooperative Counselling Therapists of Canada. As a counsellor I work collaboratively with my clients to empower them and to help them develop new awareness based on their inner strengths and wisdom. I believe all clients come to therapy with their own unique perspectives, values, beliefs, and coping abilities. I use these experiences, to draw from approaches that best match each client’s needs, strengths and goals for therapy.

Though Dr. Franz Mesmer is considered to be a 'father of hypnosis', historic records show that hypnosis, as a tool for health, had been used in ancient India, Egypt and Greece. Persian doctor Ibn Sina Avicenna recognized and wrote about hypnosis in 'The Book of Healing' already in 1027! Around 1770, Mesmer was the first to propose a rational basis for the effects of hypnosis and to develop a consistent method for hypnosis, which was passed on to and developed by his followers.
