Like our beautiful city, Vancouver, Cityview Church is a mosaic of people made up of many colours, textures, and mediums. Some of us have lived in Vancouver our whole lives, while others have come from a country on the other side of the world. Some of us are young, some not so much. Some of us are in a career that we acquired because of a university degree, while others are making the best of life on disability. Some are artsy, while others are into numbers. Some love to cook, and some know the names of most of the restaurants in the metro area. Some of us have no religious background at all, while others have been around church their whole lives. For sure, we are a variety pack.

Praise International Church was started as a church plant out of Singapore. Pastor James Lim and his family officially took charge of the church in September of 1989. With a team of 5 short-term missionaries and a congregation of 20 members, they set out to establish the church plant.

These four words are significant to our community as they remind us of some truths about who God is and who we want to be in response to him. Each word is explored a little below. Although we come as we are, we also believe that nobody is beyond the need or the power to be changed. We should expect to see transformation in our lives - it's what normally happens when you have a relationship with Jesus.
