The Society was formed in 1977 to gather, preserve, record and exhibit Yale's history. The 'Historic Yale' story is told through the preservation and maintenance of the St. John the Divine Church and the 1870?s 'Creighton House' Museum and artifacts. The Yale and District Historical Society (YDHS) is a non-profit, registered charitable organization, holding the current contract with the BC Heritage Branch of the Provincial Government to maintain and operate the Heritage Site and buildings.
