You will eat and drink well at La Palette, an intimate Alexandra Park-based testament to the fact that French cuisine is alive and thriving in Toronto. Find an abundance of straight-up, hearty French country dishes being served by friendly, knowledgeable staff at the cozy tables here, including mussels, foie gras and — natch — done-to-perfection frites. Off-the-beaten-track meat picks include horse, bison and boar (all prepared to standards of the highest level), and the burgers here are the subject of lots of adoring praise. Much of La Palette's tasty charcuterie offerings are cured in house. Whatever your meal, all the flavours are rich and creamy, as the best French cuisine should be.
Italian-style snacks and cocktails draw Europhiles to this bright and stylish Fashion District trattoria at the foot of a condo complex for throughout-the-day sustenance. A casual ambiance highlighted by marble tabletops and high ceilings serves as hip backdrop to busy King Westers, whether they're grabbing kickstarting cappuccinos or after-work formaggi.
On a minus ten degree day, I braved the wind and found Bar Buca for their Winterlicious lunch menu. Ordered the zucchini appetizer with the Italian wedding soup as the main, a biscotti and something like a crisp cookie wafer for desserts. Warmed me up that dayRead more
Come savor a delectable meal at Universal Grill. Come sit on their terrace beneath the sun. They are open nightly from Monday to Friday. You can get there by bicycle.
Came in on Yelp recommendations to get a quick bite. Turned into a gourmet experience!
Margarita- Only had better at an authentic Mexican place in Bradford (MexiCanada). Wonderful traditional flavor and properly made and presented.
Dry Rib- Excellent. Wonderful taste, not overwhelming the meat, meat done to perfection. Was told it was more spicy than the wet rib, loved the heat. Had it with a nice Malbec
Coleslaw - best I have ever had. The sauce was creamy but light and didn't overwhelm the veg. Very fresh and crunchy.
Sweet Potato Fry- done nice and dark (double fried) and still full full of flavor but no grease AT ALL. excellent job.
Atmosphere- low key, dim lights and excellent music mix. Easy to slip into an indulgent mode. Very comfortable in the diner decor and the simple bell used to signal the next order being ready.
OVERALL - WOW! Will be back. Can't wait for patio season!Read more

Wheat Sheaf is among the city's oldest watering holes and is something of a Toronto institution whose continuous operation actually dates back to 18 years before Confederation. As any excellent tavern would, this place features heavy wooden tables bowing under the weight of frothy pitchers and stacks of sticky wings (sold at half price on Sunday through Tuesday). Wheat Sheaf has a kickin' jukebox, a rollicking atmosphere,
I visited last night for the first time for a friends birthday party I have to say the atmosphere was very nice the food was good the only downfall being a disabled person is with the washrooms be in downstairs. Overall it was a good night and a big thank you to our waitress Alley for keeping on top of her toes and making sure everybody had everything they needed in the celebration. Read more

Definitely the best bar / restaurant in the area. Great Patio in the back and very cozy atmosphere inside. This is a designated heritage building and there are old pictures of the area on the walls which is a nice touch.
The food is great and it's a mix of Italian, Mexican, American. What I like most is the open kitchen. The food is prepped in the open! It's a refreshing change from almost all other restaurants that prep food behind closed doors (makes you wonder what's really crawling in the kitchen).
The Bar has good selection on tap and there is a comfortable lounging area in the back by the fireplace as well.
If you are looking for something in this area, I would definitely recommend going here.Read more
