The restaurant rapidly became a popular favourite for family outings, business lunch meetings, student gatherings, and special occasions. Over the years, Wally and his brother Monty opened other Pancake Houses around the city, and 50+ years later, the Pembina Pancake House is still thriving (arrive early on Sundays to avoid the lines). This spot and two other locations - at the Clarion Hotel across from Polo Park, and at the Forks Market - attract people of all ages. They have also become 'must visit' stops for tourists and transplanted Winnipeggers returning for a visit.Your satisfaction is important to us- as you notice when you sit down and are offered a cup of our specially-blended coffee. The Happy Cooker opened its doors to Winnipeg in September 1973. We have been proudly serving Winnipeggers now for over 40 years! The passage of time has been very exciting indeed and we have seen many changes in the kitchenware industry. Changes in staples such as knives and cookware, electrical and gadgets have been significant over this four decade period.In 1999 we lost everything in an infamous but destructive fire on Osborne Street. termined not to let this icon disappear, we rebuilt the business in the old Bank of Montreal Building situated on the corner of Osborne Street and Stradbrook Avenue.Osborne Village is an eclectic, bustling region in the City of Winnipeg. We have seen many changes in our time here with both businesses and people. 2012 saw Osborne Village voted ?The Best Neighbourhood? in Canada and we are very very proud to have been a part of that.

Toad ScheduleThe Toad in the Hole Pub has been a staple in Winnipeg?s Osborne Village since the doors opened in 1990. Proprietor Michael Monk took over in 2004, and has continued the tradition of great pub grub with a wide selection of premium domestic and import beer.
