From east to west, this is quite literally in the middle of Canada. Going North to South; we re just above the 49th parallel putting us halfway between the North Pole and the Equator or 900 miles straight north of Oklahoma city. Just northeast of Winnipeg is prime horse country. PineRidge Equine Park is just 15 minutes from the city with shops and hotels and 10 minutes from the town of Oakbank with some great restaurants in the area.PineRidge Equine Park has been a dream come true for Gerry and Irene, who, in the early 70's, started farming in Alberta with cattle, sheep and quarter horses. Twenty years ago they moved to Manitoba and settled in Springfield County where they bought 10 acres and 3 mares. They bred these fine mares to champions like Brenna's Kid, Tejohn's Peppy Doc, Arc Matt O'Lena and Gallo Del Cielo.In the fall of 2001, they found the perfect location for an equine centre.
Able Concrete Ltd. was started in 1998 when Peter and Murray Wasylenchuk along with Stan Krahn saw a niche in the ready-mix market in Winnipeg. Together, they started up Able Concrete Ltd. located on the outskirts of Winnipeg. With some dedicated suppliers and loyal customers, they rapidly gained market share. The rapid pace caused some growing pains and in 2001 Building Products and Concrete Supply purchased the shares, investing much-needed capital in the growing operation. Over the years, between 2004 and 2008, two of the remaining founders went on to pursue other ventures, and the administration was taken over by Building Products. In addition to its own loyal group of customers, Able Concrete operates as the central major repair facility for the fleet as well as the base for a fleet of aggregate hauling trucks that supply all the group’s operations.
