The members of the Lethbridge Branch of the Alberta Registered Music Teachers’ Association (ARMTA) offer lessons in piano, voice, strings, organ, trombone, tuba, euphonium, theory, pedagogy, composition, accompanying, collaborative piano, Kelly Kirby Piano, and ear training. Teachers hold a degree or diploma from a recognized university or conservatory or meet the necessary qualifications set down by ARMTA, including a current Vulnerable Sector Police Check. The Lethbridge Branch organizes performing and learning events for its teachers and their students, and presents awards to students of its members for first-class honours marks in practical and theory exams.
The Lethbridge Branch was formed in 1942 and is part of a Canada-wide federation of music teachers. Its aim is to provide leadership in the community by encouraging and offering the highest calibre of music education possible and by promoting musical excellence.
