Seven countries in three daysBy Judianne JaymeWINNIPEG - Folklorama is the celebration of nations. It provides us the unique ability to travel within a two-week time frame, all in convenient venues within one great city! We can see beautiful costumes, learn some history, and sample favourites from that country. This year, I decided to take on a few pavilions for the first week of Folklorama. The second week is my turn to volunteer with the Pearl of the Orient Philippine Pavilion at 364 Dufferin Avenue.Nayong Pilipino PavilionI always think of how lucky we are, as a community, to be given two weeks to share our culture with Winnipeg! My highlight is definitely the hospitality of the volunteers. My family and I enjoyed the cultural dances from Kayumanggi Philippines Performing Arts.South SudanBeing a newly established country, this was my first time attending this pavilion. If I could summarize my experience in one word, it would be 'passion.' The emcee, in particular, was knowledgeable and proud of his country's history and the performances they were presenting.
What's NewA Song is Sung – Exodus 15When Moses and Israel cross the Red Se,a what's the first thing they do? They sing a song. Is that a funny thing to do? It's not. A song of celebration is the most appropriate thing when we see what has happened, who has done it, and who t was for. Hear the Gospel in Exodus in this sermon from the 17th of August, 2014.The Crossing – God will really do it – Exodus 14God brings His people to a place where they really need to learn something - that is really is Him who will rescue them. Hear the Red Sea Crossing, an event which defined God's People and how God came through for them. From the 20th of July, 2014.Remember & Follow – Exodus 13Moses and Israel are called to remember God's past work through the Passover. They are also told to follow Him into their future as He goes before them in pillars of cloud and fire. What is the role of remembering? What is the role of following? Hear how both are necessary in a life of faith in this sermon from the 13th of July, 2014.The Law of God, Part IVThis is Part 4 of a mini-series on the Law of God and what it means for us today.

The atmosphere has the perfect touch to spark great conversation. The music is set to a great volume which sets mood for a great night! If you havn't been here, you absolutely have to give this restaurant/lounge a chance. The food is also delightful! Perfect balance of class and energy and one of my favorite spots. Best bartender in Winnipeg hands down.Read more
The owner Mike is a standup guy. Needed a battery for my truck a couple years ago and they had the most cost effective one I could find. When my battery gave up again less than 2 years later he replaced it with a better one and with a longer warranty (he no longer carried the brand i had as he found a better supplier). I was expecting an upgrade fee but he didn't charge me one. He said he wants to take care of customers and will look after the warranty. Quality service and reasonable rates.Read more
