K9 Gentle Dental is a mobile service that partners with other dog businesses to provide our services at host clinics all over British Columbia and Alberta. So, how does an anesthesia-free cleaning work? Your pet lies on the floor on a supportive dog bed with their head in our lap. We hand scale their teeth with dental instruments just like when you go to your hygienist. Your pet’s teeth are cleaned inside and out, removing the tartar build up, then we polish the teeth. If we immediately find problems that appear to need your veterinarian’s attention, we will refer you back to your vet to have a dental cleaning under anesthesia and there will be no charge. After completing the only state-accredited, academically recognized training program taught by a veterinarian specializing in this particular field, we developed our own extensive K9 Gentle Dental tech training program in-house.
