Basic hardworking atmosphere, not white linens tablecloths, food was excellent service was outstanding. Take credit,debit, and cash. Real charpit cooking with the smell that goes along with it. Found by accident will go any time when in town. If the atmosphere isnt for you take it home... Worth the trip for the food!!

I visited Sgt. Pepper's in AJAX this weekend with my husband and after reading the reviews I was really worried. WOW, were we surprised!
Perhaps there were changes made since the last reviews were posted: we had a friendly server who was very attentive throughout our meal, brought drinks quickly and was able to remember everything about our order and that of another table's without writing anything down.
We had the Calamari, Veggie Samosas, Burger with Fries and Steak Sandwhich with Peppercorn sauce. The calamari was lightly breaded and crispy without being oily, my samosas while not authentically "indian" had a really nice potato and veggie filling, served with sweet chili sauce. My husband said his burger and fries were really good.
I think a good test of a kitchen is how they handle something like a steak sandwhich. Mine was not the run of the mill piece of shoe leather I've had at other places. This was a tender juicy piece of beef that was actually cooked how I'd asked for it, served on a not-too-garlicky ciabatta bun and the fries were great.
I'm not sure what people expect out of the decor of your average burger join, but the booths were fine and the whole restaurant and both bathrooms were really clean. Overall, I'd say that this was a really good experience and I'm sure both my husband and I will return to this location.

Since the early 1990's, my family has been competing on the Southern United States Competition BBQ Circuit (Smoke Shack BBQ, Cindy and Scott McDaniel). With more than 15 titles under their belt, including the three-time South Carolina State Championship, we knew couldn't keep this secret hidden for long. Word soon got out, and every year more and more friends started begging me to bring back some of my family's award winning BBQ meats, sauces, spices and rubs each time we travelled down south.
