This is the place I visited when I cam to Vancouver for the first time. In that sense, when I noticed people having a great time there, it always puts a smile on my face. This time, although it was quite busy as usual but my friends and I were seated promptly. Friendly server whose service was simply a top-notch. This place's got everything: a great atmosphere, something different from other run of the mill restaurants in town and also more importantly great food! This place is the perfect blend of bar and restaurant in the evenings which I easily enjoy most for the night out. Above all, their Bellini and French 75 are to die for!

We used most of our Building Fund at that time but we were one of only a couple of parishes in the deanery that didn't have to go into debt to pay their share of the new high school. With the help of Project Advance our Building Fund grew and we were able to break ground in September 2001 for the construction of the new church which was dedicated in August 2002. The new church is on the same property as the old one, in the centre of Aldergrove, on the corner of 28th Ave. and 273rd St. At the request of Fr. Wm. Mendenhall and the Pastoral Council, Archbishop Exner, in October 2002, entrusted the new church to the patronage of both St. Joachim and St. Ann, Mary's parents and Jesus' grandparents, renaming it Sts. Joachim & Ann Parish.
In 1995, when we first took hold of our historic Gastown brewpub location, we discovered that the building had a rare steam heat system. A remnant from forward thinkers of a century past.
