Les pièces nécessaires à la réparation se trouvaient à Longueuil et devaient être livrées à Percé en Gaspésie. (1050km soit 14/15hres de route). Charbonneau Messager Rapide peut compter sur des coursiers dans plus de 28 villes. Une course à relais(chauffeurs) a été organisée.
